About HyphaPro

  • The Challenge The world currently faces numerous challenges in feeding its growing
population. A changing climate and a turbulent geo-political situation, with food security high on the agenda.
  • The Solution A real opportunity exists to apply new highly precise breeding strategies to domesticate fungi to work in our favour. Although we have widely domesticated plants and animals through human history, we now need to domesticate our fungal friends in order to supplement traditional farming-based supply chains with more resilient and eco-friendly paths to produce foods

Our Vision At HyphaPro our vision is to leverage our expertise in precise fungal breeding to create improved production pipelines for foodstuffs and other products
useful to man. We foresee a world where these products might be
produced reliably anywhere in a process much akin to brewing and with
a far reduced environmental footprint compared to farming-based paths.

Our vision is not science fiction. The underlying technology is
already applied to produce high value proteins in fungi. We want to
put the UK at the forefront of this future facing revolution in food
supply.

Precision fermentation is poised to become a major contributor to meeting global protein demand over the coming decade.

  • It offers a way to reduce emissions, minimise land use and enhance food security, all while producing high-quality ingredients that society relies on.
  • Dual-Product Strategy: Targeting high-demand Ovalbumin (bulk market) and high-value, niche Ovotransferrin (non-food IP).
  • We are building a resilient and sustainable alternative to traditional animal-derived proteins. Our solution combines advanced molecular biology with scalable precision fermentation technology, moving protein production out of the farm and into the controlled environment of the bioreactor.
